First Scout Registration Label & First Scout Cancel |
December 1934 - January 1935 |
Building on Romania's lead, Australia's First National Jamboree at Frankston, Victoria utilized a Scout cancel and a Scout registration label. There were three types of cancelers. The Type 1 cancel was applied to all outgoing ordinary mail, Type 2 was only applied to registered mail, and Type 3 was used on both. Presented at left is a Type 1 (small font) cancel on cover to Melbourne, Victoria. At top, a registered cover with Type 2 ("T" in "AUST" aligns with date) mailed to Melbourne and at bottom, a Type 3 cancel mailed to Footscray, Victoria. © SOSSI E-Mail to |
