GREAT BRITAIN, 1957
A set of three was issued not in only panes, but also in coil rolls with perforations on all four sides. For the first time in its history, the post office undertook to service first day covers. A machine was designed to automatically apply all three stamps simultaneously from rolls on a single cover and then automatically cancel them. The three test coil stamps on this cover were applied by the apparatus before production use. (10 covers prepared.)
