The Scout and Guide Stamp Society of Australia (SGSSA) arranged to have 2,000 covers carried in a Nomad aircraft in honor of the 11th Australian Scout Jamboree. The Jamboree was held December 30, 1976 to January 6, 1977 at Rossmyne Park, Victoria, Australia.

A cachet depicting the Nomad twin turbo-prop in flight was printed on each cover. According to the SGSSA, this was be the first time that commemorative covers were flown on a Nomad. The flight took place at Avalon Airfield during one of the test flights in the week preceding the Christmas holidays.
