World Thinking Day is an international event of the Girl Guides and Scouts. On this day, traditionally the third Saturday in February, Girl Guides and Scouts gather together and share what they have learned about youth in other countries of the world.


This special day, which is on February 22 each year, is a time to think about people and friends in countries far away from our own. February 22 was chosen because it was the birthday of both Lord Baden-Powell, the founder of Boy Scouting, and his wife, Lady Baden-Powell, who was World Chief Guide of the Girl Guide/Girl Scout movement
